Taking the Plunge!

Well on Monday we finally did it...we gave Oliver his first meal of solids. We had always said we wanted to wait a year to feed him solids, but he was starting to eat every hour and a half so obviously my milk was not doing it for him anymore...so all this week we have been giving him rice cereal. The first three days he LOVED it. Last night, however, the only way I could get him to eat it was through his fresh food feeder which was quite messy to understate it! I'm excited to introduce him to all the foods in the world!
The most exciting thing, however, was last night he only got up once, at 430, to eat. He usually gets up 3 times!! It was heaven! Hopefully he will keep it up!

Hey Jess...Good job on the cereal feeding. Ethan has been introduced to a few things himself for the same reason! If Oliver doesn't like the plain cereal, you could put in a drop of "real" jelly (like polaners) or some baby applesauce to sweeten it up. I think Ethan's starting to wean himself, unfortunately. Noah did it at 10 mos. but I had to force Kara to wean. They are all different, I guess! Good luck!
