CONNECTED!

We've finally been reconnected to the world...the Comcast guy came today! Hooray! The move has gone pretty well...lots and lots of boxes to unpack and figure out where to put everything. We get our couch on Thursday and then it will really feel like home, even if it is a messy one! When I unpack a little more I will take some pics of our new abode.

Also, its our 200th post! Wowza!

Wolfeboro/Loon Center

On Friday Melody and Miranda (my nieces) went to school with mom, so Dad, Rob, Leslea, Oliver, and I took a trip up to Wolfeboro. It was gorgeous weather, if a bit windy. I guess we were there a bit early because the only lunch place that was open was the Wolfeboro Diner. Not very good. We ate a LOT of diner food while they were here because they don't really have diner food in Australia. George's was frequented and we tried out the Tilt'n Diner. I know Rob liked George's the best...best diner "atmosphere". (The Tilt'n Diner is a bit too manufactured).
But I digress... after Wolfeboro we stopped by the Loon Center in Moultonborough and had a little stroll. No loons, but we did see a little turtle sunning himself! "Uncle Bob" and Oliver had a great time with lots of piggy back rides. It was a beautiful day and I'm glad we got to spend so much time outside.

Montreal

Shane and I are planning a family trip to Montreal over Memorial Day weekend. Does anyone have any favorite spots they like to visit when there? What are the "must do's"? What are the "must misses"?

Easter Sunday

The spoils of the Easter egg hunt! Everytime he sees an Easter egg now, he says "Cookie!?"

Oliver with his beautiful cousins, Miranda and Melody. They came all the way from Australia to visit and we LOVED having them!

Pretty Easter dresses

Uncle Bob flying Oliver around. He was actually more of a weapon due to the drool spewing forth.

Cuuuuuute. Easter family pic! So glad Les and her fam could be there!
Most important pic...the desserts; lemon meringue pie, mango tart with lime curd, and cookies n cream cheesecake. All homemade my moi!

It was a great Easter and I will be posting a lot more about Les, Rob, and the girls' visit now that I won't be gallavanting around the state being a tourist:)
Though, I won't have much more time, because on Saturday we are moving to Dover! See you in church next week, Somersworth Ward!

Easter Egg Hunt!

This is the Easter egg hunt we did for Oliver on Easter morning. I chose the shiniest, brightest eggs I could find so that he'd be able to find them. It took him a minute, but once he knew animal crackers were inside, he was able to find them all!

Daniel

Friday was my last day watching Daniel. It was so much fun watching him grow up. You look at other children grow with such a different perspective from your own. I feel so blessed that I was able to work from home these 8 months. It has also been so nice for Oliver to have a little "brother" so he knows what its like. He loves Daniel so much, his favorite thing is to give him hugs (which Daniel hates, because it involves him being crushed) and even as I was looking at photos to post Oliver was saying "Dan! Dan!' I will definitely miss this little guy and his crazy hair. Even more, though, I think I will miss his mom! Joan was the best "boss" you could want! She was so laid back and just let me do my own thing with Dan. What was so impressive is that she stuck with breastfeeding despite working 4 days a week. It takes a woman with determination to do that! I also loved the time we would spend after she would pick Daniel up. We would just sit, nurse, and talk. It was great. Finally, she was also hilarious. On my last day she gave me a card, and on the cover it said "I thought I child proofed my house but they still get in." Ha Ha! Perfect!
They will both be greatly missed when we move to the seacoast, but I'm willing to meet her in Alton if she still wants to drop Daniel off to be babysat!

It's a girl!!

Shane still has to scan in the ultra sound pictures, but she looks perfect and beautiful! I couldn't be more excited to be having a little girl. I thought that I wanted another boy, but the more I think about it, the more happy and excited I am that I am having a little girl. We already have the name, which I think most people know, but it is Lily Bates. When she is born there will be 4 generations of Bates! (It is my grandmother's maiden name and my mom, mine, and Lily's middle names!)

She moved a lot more than Oliver did so I got to see a lot more movement. Because I have been able to feel her kick so much earlier it was cool to see AND feel her moving. It was a really special bonding moment. These next 5 months can't fly by fast enough! I'm excited to meet my beautiful daughter:)
