Introducing new flavors
Although we haven't introduced solids to Oliver's diet yet, we have been trying to expose him to new flavors so he will take to solid foods more easily in about 4 months. I gave him a carrot last week which he really enjoyed, but because he has teeth now he was biting off chunks and I was worried about him choking. So we bought him a fresh food feeder. So far he has tasted carrot, red pepper, and watermelon. I think the watermelon was his favorite. It is fun to see his reaction to the new flavors!

Oliver's trip to Maine
This Tuesday Oliver and I went to visit some college friends of mine in Kittery, Maine. It was Oliver's first time in Maine and in the ocean (at Fort Stark)! I had such an awesome time with Caty, Kayla, Carolyn, and Ryan. They are really great friends and I only wish that I had met them sooner than senior year!Ryan took the day off of work because he didn't want to feel rushed with Oliver!
Paparazzi photoMaking our way int o the ocean, checking for sharksHe loves it! He would splash and splash until he got it in his eyes, then he would cry, I would give him a hug, and he would splash again!Splashy!

Oliver loved just sitting in the grass and pulling it out-he'll make a good gardener some day!
We finished off the night having pizza delivered to us at Prescott Park. It was a delicious end to a wonderful day!

Fourth of July
We had a fantastic Independence Day. We lounged around until the Meredith Rotary chicken bbq. After that we went to the Center Harbor parade. Oliver slept through the whole thing! Fire engine sirens and all! For all of you who have seen Mr. Holland's Opus you will know how scary this is! Luckily I know Oliver is just a heavy sleeper:) Oliver and I spent the afternoon in the pool while Shane got some quality gaming in. For dinner we had a perfect bbq-hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, corn on the cob, and for dessert we had these little beauties...
At about 8 pm we went back to Center Harbor to watch a jazz band perform until the main event...fireworks! There were definitely less this year, and the grand finale was kind of short, but they are fun to watch. Oliver loved them at first, but then got bored with them over time. At least he didn't cry!

Update!
Well, we have moved back with mom and dad for the month because our landlady moves back to New Hampshire for one month a year. The computer is not where it usually is so I just don't think to update. I want to try and find time to upload photos because there are so many! We have had such a fun few weeks! Oliver has started waving hello and good-bye as well as playing peek-a-boo. Its so much fun! Tuesday I bought a Kelty Kids Hiking pack so today I went for a hike at Gunstock with some friends. My shoulders hurt, but it was bearable and Oliver really enjoyed it. I feel like there is so much more to talk about, but I guess I will wait to upload the pics!
