hot hot hot!

Can I just be the first to say that I was more than happy with our cooler, rainier than normal summer. 8 months pregnant in this heat and humidity is wretched. Not to mention Oliver won't sleep in this heat. Well, I'm off to take a cold shower...the only thing that gets me through the day.

Sleepless in Dover

Oy. I have Restless Leg Syndrome (I know!! It's really not made up!) And when I get pregnant for some reason in aggravates the condition to the point that I can't sleep some nights. Last night was one of those nights. I just get a compulsive urge to kick. It is the hardest thing to describe. My mom has it too, and we have always just called it "Crazy Legs" and in high school my friends dubbed it "Epileptic Legs." I was amazed a few years ago when I saw a commercial for it. I would never take medication for it (have you SEEN the warnings!? May increase gambling urges...what the!?) , but it was interesting that it is medically recognized.
ANYWAY.
I stayed up too late last night and had sugar before bed, both of which aggravate the condition. To add to that I walked 5 miles with Oliver earlier in the day so my legs were sore and crampy as it was. Moral of the story I couldn't get to sleep until 2am. I filled my time playing Scramble on my Ipod (thanks for the suggestion, Ariane) and creating a baby registry at babiesrus. OK, its more of a wish list because most of the things on the list are well over $100 and I would never expect someone else to spend that much on my baby. We didn't get to create a registry with Oliver because we were moving to Scotland, so we couldn't take much with us, so it's fun to look up things that I can't afford but would love to have! It's a good way to pass the time:)
ANYWAY.
I got to bed at 2, got up to pee at 3, and then Oliver woke up crying at 415. There is a gas station/truck stop right across the street from us and some mornings are busier than others. This was one of the mornings. Lots of loud trucks accelerating and decelerating VERY LOUDLY. It took about 20 minutes to get him back to sleep. I peed before going in his room and after. So at 445 I was back in bed. At 645 Oliver woke up for the day. I'm not running on too much steam here. And, obviously, the third trimester no-bladder has arrived. Hooray.
In other news, it was at this point in my pregnancy that we moved back from Scotland. I still think about how life would be if we had stayed, but have no regrets about returning.
Thats my rant! Thanks for stoppin' by!

Called To Serve!

My little sister, Marisa, got her mission call today!!! She is the only of the 7 Johnson children to go on a mission, and I am so proud of her! She has been called to serve in San Diego, Spanish speaking and also to work as a tour guide at the Mormon Battalion historical site. She is already gushing that this is the perfect mission! She gets to learn a new language, gets to be a tour guide, but gets to stay state side! Its everything she wanted in a mission! She reports to the MTC on September 16. That is 2 weeks after my due date with Lily, so hopefully I won't have to be induced so that she can see her auntie before she goes to serve the Lord for 18 months! I'm so proud of you Ris! Stay classy, Sister Johnson!!

Some fun Oliver words

He won't say them on tape, so I just have to list them!
Rah-Rah= Auntie Ris
Beep-Beep/Broom-Broom= car/truck
Peeeeeee= Please
Doo-Doo= Train
Gookie= Cookie
Num-Num= Bottle or food
Cheeeeeeee= cheese
Moooow= meow
Tee-Tee= kitty
Joooooo= juice
Gee-Gee= Jesus
Bub-boo= bubble
Pobby= potty

It's so much fun to see him learn so many new words and how he interprets them. We're trying to teach him his name, but he can't pronounce L or V, so its a bit of a slow process!

Carter's Visit

I was fortunate enough to be available to watch Carter while his Mummy was giving birth to his baby brother! He is a month and a half younger than Oliver, and they are pure opposites. Carter is laid back and chatty. Oliver is wild and loud!! They love hanging out together, though, and I love watching them interact.

8 weeks!

Or possibly 10 if Lily is as patient as Oliver. Though I have my doubts. Her movements are much sharper. I can actually feel her in my ribs, which I never once felt with Oliver. On the other hand, when I walk she pushes down, like she is lower in m'belly. She has a party in my belly every night at 9pm. These all make me think that she is going to be rip-rearing to get out. Oliver was very mellow, more than happy to stay inside. I think Lily can hear all the fun that Oliver has and wants to get in on the action! Now I am not saying that I will go before my due date, I just hope I won't go more than a week over due. It is still quite a while off, though, so its a little early to be thinking about it. I have several friends due this month, so the delivery is on my mind, so I feel like I am further along than I am. They need to all have their babies so that I won't be thinking about it so much!
I have my 32 week appointment today. I think I'm having blood drawn again for my Anti-E antibody. Its just silly. The last draw they said the levels were so low that they couldn't even detect them! Stop stealing m'blood then!
